Animated version of the classic story. The story traces the life of David Copperfield from childhood to maturity. David spends his early years with his mother and their housekeeper, Peggotty. When he is seven years old his mother marries Edward Murdstone. David is given good reason to dislike his stepfather and has similar feelings for Murdstone's sister Jane, who moves into the house soon afterwards. Murdstone attempts to thrash David for falling behind in his studies. David bites him and soon afterwards is sent away to a boarding school, Salem House, with a ruthless headmaster, Mr. Creakle. There he befriends James Steerforth and Tommy Traddles...

The legendary novel by Charles Dickens comes to life in this colorful interpretation directed by Delbert Mann.

David Copperfield, in full The Personal History of David Copperfield, novel by English writer Charles Dickens, published serially in 1849–50 and in book form in 1850. David Copperfield has always been among Dickens’s most popular novels and was his own “favourite child.” The work is semiautobiographical, and, although the title character differs from his creator in many ways, Dickens related early personal experiences that had meant much to him—his work in a factory, his schooling and reading, and (more cursorily) his emergence from parliamentary reporting into successful novel writing.

Do you think that in 50 years time, people will speak about Taylor Swift the way they do with The Beatles now? Will Ed Sheeran be considered as influential as Bob Dylan? Will Billie Eilish be mentioned in the same sentence as Patti Smith, or will Beyonce be considered as prolific as Nina Simone?

It's weird to think that even though there are so many modern music artists that are extremely successful and well-known, most people would agree that their impact on music isn't anywhere near as meaningful as those who came before them. Does this mean that they're making bad music? No, of course not - there are tens of millions of people around the world who love what they do, and quality really has nothing to do with it - but why is it that they can't really be considered music legends? Why is it that everything from the music we listen to, to the movies and TV shows we watch all feel as though they're universally loved one moment, then forgotten about in an instant?

Well, it's a little complicated, but it's not entirely the fault of the audience. If you're looking for something to blame, then we need to look at streaming services like Spotify, and - the worst offender - TikTok, which for musicians, has become the most outrageously exploitative platform in human existence.

Your attention span isn't getting shorter, tech companies just don't want you to care about one thing for very long.
